The Hellcats

1975

Teaser Storyline for Hellcats

Dave Chapman (Bro Beck) a detective hot on the trail of a female motorcycle gang known as the "Hellcats" is killed while on an afternoon outing with fiancee Linda (Dee Duffy) and his brother Monte (Ross Hagen) arrives to find the murderer. Fortunately, he discovers some names in an address book his dead brother had valued, and together with Linda plots on how they can join the gang as outlaws from a busted gang "up North."

Sheila (Sharyn Kinzie) is the leader of the "Hellcats" and through Moonfire (Frederic Downs) a dirty old man who operates a secluded mountain inn of the same name, is in contact with Mr. Adrian (Bob Slatzer) a big-time dope peddler who fronts another business and is always accompanied by his two henchmen, suave Dean (Dick Merrifield) and psychopathic killer Pepper (Nick Raymond).

At the inn the couple is challenged, Monte by Snake (Sonny West) leader and hero of a male motorcycle gang, and Linda by just about every Hellcat in

the room. Fortunately, she has learned karate, judo, and bike-riding from Monte who is a good teacher. They are accepted and invited to join in a weekend of wild music, lovemaking, drinking at a "freak-out-love-in" where they learn of plans to go to Mexico to pick up some "stuff."

Sheila invites Linda to join her and Betty (Lydia Goya) to go to get the dope and they meet their contact, Scorpio (Gus Trikonis) an unsavory, unscrupulous Mexican-American who delivers the stuff which they secret in the headlights of the three cycles.

Suspicious police follow the trio, Betty's cycle goes out of control over a cliff and she is killed. The police, however, do not find the dope.

When Sheila rides off to deliver the dope to Adrian, Linda follows, and Monte, realizing her danger, goes in pursuit. Adrian, furious at Sheila for allowing herself to be trailed, has her tied up in the toolroom with Monte, after the latter has been brutally beaten. Linda is tied up but kept in his office.

Preparing to make his getaway via his boat in San Pedro harbor, Adrian orders Pepper to do away with Hildy (Hildegard Wendt) his beautiful but dumb blonde girl friend fearing she will talk if left behind, which he intends to do. Monte and Linda are tied and gagged and taken to the docks in Adrian's car. Monte is dumped in a garbage barge but the gangster's boat has developed engine trouble and he is delayed.

Sheila, who has managed to escape, tells the Hellcats about the whole affair, and they ride furiously to the docks in pursuit of Pepper. Following him are dozens of cyclists swinging chains, fury in their eyes, menace in their mood . . . Adrian is killed in the melee that follows, Pepper is knocked unconscious by Monte who is rescued by the gang, who at the same time subdue Dean. The police, tipped off by Sheila, arrive to take over the situation.

Linda and Monte, returned to their own identities, realize they have formed a deep affection for each other, and even though he must return to his work, we feel there is a future for them . . . . together.
