James Bond: Man with the Golden Gun

1974       Roger Moore

"The Man With The Golden Gun" is the ninth in the successful series of James Band films based on the novels of Jan Fleming, produced by Albert R. Broccoli and Harry Saltzman. As in "Live And Let Die," Roger Moore again stars in the role of Fleming's indestructible Agent 007.

The picture released by United Artists, an entertainment service of Transamerica Corporation.

In this latest adventure, set in south-east Asia, James Bond battles with the professional assassin Saramanga, played by Christopher Lee, in his search for a missing Solex Agitator, which harnesses the energy 0f the sun for either good or evil purposes.

Scaramanga's price per killing is $1,000,000 and because he always uses a golden gun and bullet, he is known and feared throughout the world of espionage as 'the man with the golden gun.'

Bond is assisted in his mission by the beautiful Mary Goodnight, portrayed in the film by the lovely and talented Brjtt Ekland. Also top featured are Maud Adams, as Scaramanga's girl friend Andrea, and

Herve Villechaize, who plays Nick Nack, his man-servant, henchman and lethal companion.

Clifton James is specially featured as he recreates the character of Sheriff J. W. Pepper Gf "Live And Let Die" fame.

Guy Hamilton, who directed previous Bond successes - "Goldfinget," "Diamonds Are Forever" and "Live And Let Die" - is at the helm of "The Man With The Golden Gun." The screenplay is by Richard Maibaum, and Tom Mankiewicz who have individually written or co-authored most of the series. Directing photography on his seventh 007 film is Ted Moore, B.S.C., who received an Academy Award for his work on "A Man For All Seasons."

The unique style and phenomenal success of these films is now part of the official history of the film industry.

Herve Villechaize Lethal Henchman

Herve Villechaize is an actor. He is also a professional painter, an expert cameraman - both cine and still, and a talented musician of concert pianist calibre. This most versatile and able performer, this man of many talents stands only 3' 10".

Herve now in his early thirties, is playing the featured role of Nick Nack, man-servant, henchman and lethal companion of the villainous Scaramanga, in "The Man With The Golden Gun," the ninth in the phenomenally successful series based on the novels of Ian Fleming, opening at the Theatre through United Artists release.
